TSA Releases Baseline Assessments for Security Enhancement (BASE) Benchmarking Report for School Bus
Thursday, January 21, 2021

TSA has developed this report in an effort to more broadly share lessons learned and best practices derived from TSA assessments and exercises. A BASE Assessment is a free, voluntary risk-based program that evaluates the security posture of transportation systems. BASE aids School Bus Operators in elevating their security posture by implementing and sustaining baseline security measures applicable to their operating environments and specific system characteristics.

This report presents the average Security Action Item (SAI) passing scores for the School Bus Transportation Systems Sector between 2017 and 2019 from the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) Baseline Assessment for Security Enhancement (BASE). Some of the benefits of the BASE report are:

  • Tailored Assessments
  • Targeted Improvements
  • Grant Funding
  • Additional Programs and Guidance

The TSA Exercise Information System (EXIS) platform provides TSA the capability to share not only this report, but also other valuable security-related information with our security partners.
