As of October 1, 2025, EXIS has integrated Login.gov to enhance security and provide a more streamlined, consistent sign-in experience for all users. Here’s what you need to know about the updated access process.
Can I still use my old EXIS username and password?
No. All prior EXIS usernames and passwords are no longer valid. Users must now sign in to EXIS using Login.gov.
How do I access EXIS now?
Users must complete two steps:
- If you do not have an EXIS account, submit the EXIS registration form. Once approved, return to EXIS and sign in using Login.gov.
- Create a Login.gov account (if you do not already have one) with the same email address associated with your EXIS account. You may have a Login.gov account with other email addresses, but to access your EXIS account, the email address must match the email address of the EXIS account.
What if I previously had a Login.gov account?
If you already have a Login.gov account and the email address matches the email used for your EXIS registration, you may sign in immediately using your existing Login.gov credentials.
Do I still need to complete the EXIS registration form?
Yes, if this is the first time accessing EXIS, complete the EXIS registration form. Login.gov handles authentication, but EXIS still requires a registration form to assign roles and grant application access.
How will I know when my EXIS registration is approved?
You will receive an email from the EXIS Team once your registration request has been reviewed and approved.
What if I forget the email or password for my Login.gov account?
Account recovery, including password resets, must be handled through Login.gov. The EXIS Help Desk cannot assist with Login.gov account issues.
Support resources:
Who do I contact if I have questions about my EXIS registration or need help with an exercise?
For registration, access approval, or EXIS functionality, please contact the EXIS Help Desk at
[email protected]. For exercise support, contact the Exercise Support Team at
[email protected].
How do I change the email address associated with my PIV card when using it to sign in with Login.gov?
If you use a PIV (Personal Identity Verification) card to log in to Login.gov, the email address linked to your PIV credential must be managed within Login.gov. To update the email address associated with your PIV so it matches the emails address used during EXIS registration:
- Sign in to Login.gov using your PIV card.
- Go to your Login.gov account settings.
- Update or add the email address you want associated with your PIV authentication method.
